Teenagers In N.J. Hotel Inappropriately Touched By Stranger

Authorities stated that a 54-year-old long-term resident of a New Jersey hotel entered a room where four Utah adolescents on a countrywide tour were sleeping early Wednesday and made sexual contact with them.

According to township police, William Wise, whose last known residence was in Sicklerville, was detained a short time later in a separate room at the Red Roof Inn & Suites on Burlington-Mount Holly Road in Westampton.

Wise had previously entered a second-floor room occupied by two 17-year-olds and two 18-year-olds. He stayed inside for a few minutes, then left and returned a few minutes later. Wise then spent around 15 minutes in the adolescents’ room before bolting out the door and down the hall at 4:30 a.m. The victims, all of whom were female, were traveling through New Jersey with a group of recent high school graduates taking part in a two-week religious history tour.

On Tuesday, the group left Washington, D.C., with plans to stay one night in New Jersey before continuing on to New York City. Wise was charged with burglary, aggravated criminal sexual contact on two charges, endangering the welfare of a child on two counts, and harassment by offensive touching on two counts. He was arrested and sent to the Burlington County prison for a detention hearing.
